The Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences (AFMS) is a distinguished institution dedicated to advancing the interests of justice in society by pursuing excellence in education and training across the forensic medical sciences. Under the esteemed leadership of Professor Peter Vanezis OBE, President and Director of AFMS and an eminent Forensic Pathologist at the Home Office, the Academy continues to set the benchmark for professional standards in this critical field. Professor Vanezis also serves as Honorary President of the Balkan Academy of Forensic Sciences. AFMS, along with Virtual Autopsy UK, has established a formal, strategic collaboration to develop and deliver joint programmes that advance teaching across the broad field of forensic medical sciences, particularly in non-invasive post-mortem examination (Virtual Autopsy). This alliance ensures that training and education in Virtual Autopsy are delivered to the highest professional standards, reflecting the values of both organisations.

The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), recognised as an Institution of National Importance and the world’s first university dedicated exclusively to forensic sciences, has embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration with Virtual Autopsy UK. This strategic partnership is designed to foster professional academic collaboration, advanced expert training, and pioneering research in medicolegal investigations. It places a strong emphasis on forensics and the integration of non-invasive procedures into modern forensic science, bringing unparalleled technological expertise to this alliance. In 2023, Virtual Autopsy UK successfully conducted India’s first 5-day comprehensive training program on "Virtual Autopsy" at the NFSU campus. This collaboration not only strengthens international academic ties but also revolutionises the approach to forensic pathology and criminal justice
